So I compiled a list of things I think you might want to consider before buying any android device.
1. The device Internal Memory
The internal memory of your device really does matter a lot as it affects the number of apps you can install on you device, regardless of the location the apps are installed either phone of memory card, part of you phone memory is allotted for some backup files for any application you install. Those of you who used phones like Tecno N3 would have an idea of what I’m talking about. Though the are some fixes on the internet for low phone memory issues but I would rather that my phone came out of the box without me having to do any unnecessary tweaking. In my opinion, go for a device with not less than 4 GB rom, trust me it will save u from a lot of headaches.
2. Ram size
For those of you who are hard core gamers, you would agree with me that the bigger your ram the more enjoyable your games would be simply because you won’t experience any lags what so ever.
You also get to be able to run multiple apps simultaneously without freezing your phone / causing it to lag. My advice is to go for any device with at least 1 gig of ram.

3. CPU Speed
In this day and age we have all manner of CPU’s, many of them have become so miniature that the fit on very small chips. Without going into all the technicalities, let me just say that any android device worth buying should be running on a duo core processor with a clock speed of at least 1.0 GHZ. Combining this with a 1gig ram gives you a device that runs smoothly without any lags whatsoever
4. OS Version
The android OS has really gone through a lot of upgrades/ improvement’s since its release, as u have versions like gingerbread, ginger bean, Ice cream sandwich, jelly beans, and of course kit Kat “android 4.4” which is the latest at the time of writing this article, if you’re buying any android device make sure its running on at least android 4.0 and above. That way your device is compatible with a lot more apps as compared to those running on any lower version plus the fact that the look and feel of your phone is just going to be more beautiful as compared to lower android versions.
5. The Strength of the Battery
In my opinion, a mobile device is only as good as its battery. if there is one thing I hate with a passion, it’s the stress of leaving my house every day with a charger simply because my phone battery may not last me till I get home in the evening regardless of the fact that I charged it the night before.
So for a small device of say 3.5 inches, the battery ratting shouldn’t be less than 1400mah, for a 4 inches screen, at least 1800mah, 5 inches screen , we want to see a battery rating of at least 2000mah and above, while for a 7 inch screen ,we’d like to see a battery rating of at least 3,500mah

6. Screen Size
Android devices vary in screen size, ranging from 3.0 inches to as big as 10.1 inches. But whichever one u decide to go for, you need to ask yourself a few questions, like how portable is this device, what am i using it for.
For someone who has a car, buying a 10.1 inch tab may not really be a problem, but for someone has to struggle for bus on the streets of Lagos or whichever part of the country you are living, you would agree with me that it’s going to be very difficult doing that with a tab in your hand. Summary,
For someone like that, you may want to consider buying a device that fits nicely into your pocket to avoid stories that touch. Again “Just my opinion”.

7. 3G Internet Speed Capability
One of the things that easily piss me off when browsing is when the network is damn slow, and must say that it does happen a lot even when using the so called 3G Networks our service providers have in this country. Now try to imagine if your device only had just Edge or GPRS capability. Mehn, snail speed would not even be the word to describe how slow your network would be.
Always ask the seller and if possible, Google the particular device u intend buying .You could also visit online forums and ask questions on the particular device of interest. And for those of you who import android device from china or are planning to buy from someone who imported the Device from china, be sure to ask the person over and over again if the tab/ phone is equipped with at least 3G capability.

8. Camera Quality
Though not so important to some people, but to me it is. Try not to go for an android device with anything less than a 5 MP camera, that way any photograph you take with it should always come out looking sharp and colorful.
