Why you Need To Be More Careful When Using Social Networks.

By Yemi | 9:36 PM | Be the first to comment!

Social media really did hit the world by storm as it made socializing easier and strengthened the bond of friendship btw people regardless of where they are on earth.

There are alot of social media websites today, some of the most common ones are facebook, twitter, linked in, goggle plus pinintrest ...etc
As good as this social networks are, there are also certain things you need to be aware of  and try not to do when using them.

1, Don't give out Personal info About Yourself on Social Networks
Not everybody on social networks are not there to make friends, some of them are there to steal sensitive info that you leave for them on line about you.

Avoid putting things like your full house address, phone numbers any anything that could be used to trace or scam you.

The other day i got a call from someone who called my name and address and then attempted to dupe me with some fake business idea. Thank God for giving me the wisdom to outsmart him. They almost had me convinced because of the familiarity the seemed to have with me.

Also note that Its not everything that happens in your house that is meant to be posted on Facebook or what ever social media you are using.

2 Don't spend your Whole Day on Social Networks
Social media are meant to be some kind of online meeting place where socializing takes place. Unfortunately, some people have turned it to a place of abode, they practically leave their whole lives there, they no longer have time for there studies, and issues pertaining to achieving their life goals.

If you do a little research, you will observe that Academic performance keeps dropping as the years go by, and if we want to be honest with our selves we'll realize that the abuse of social media is partly responsible for this.

Well, i just thought i make a quick post on this issue and i hope someone out there reading this will take this post really seriously and act on which ever area that apply to you.
Take Care.

Why You Don’t Own a Business Up Till Now

By Yemi | 6:50 PM | | Be the first to comment!

If you’ve been around for quite some time you would agree with me that the rate of unemployment in this country Is on the increase even as more and more graduates are being turned out yearly without a facility in place to offer them a job capable of sustaining them and their families.
With the way things are going, sitting down and thinking of what you can do with your own hands may be your best and only option.

The truth of the matter is that nothing beats being your own boss.

Here are some of the advantages

1. You define your own work hours.

When you are your own boss, you get to pick the number of hours a day you work. This gives you more freedom and time for other things. Although you may only begin to enjoy this benefit a few years down the road after your business has been fully established

2. There is no limit to the amount of money you can make.Being your own boss actually makes the sky your limit as there is no ceiling to the amount of money you can make.
Let me tell you something that will shock you, “No employer has the intention of paying his employees enough money to make them rich” yea yea, you heard that right. So you see why doing something other than your salary paying job is the only way to go. I’m not saying you should quit your day job if you already have one and start a business, all I’m saying is that you need to have it at the back of your mind that your salary probably will not give you the breakthrough you require.

3. You don’t have to wait till the end of the month to get paid

One of the things that sucks about a day job is the fact that you have to wait for 30 whole days to get paid your salary which could be really be frustrating …. Trust me, I’ve been there. There is nothing like getting daily turnover, no matter how little it is, it’s still worth something. It has a way of boosting your morale and encouraging you to work harder towards making your business venture more profitable.
So then, why aren’t many people running their own business you may ask?

Well one of the primary reasons I discovered stopping people from starting /owing a business is the fear of starting. Sad but true. You may not want to accept it but deep down you know it’s true.
When you allow fear to grip your mind, you have simply allowed yourself to be stagnated because you would just prefer staying in your comfort zone rather than stepping out and believing that all things will work together for your good.
Even if you start your dream business and fail, you are not considered to be a failure until you stop trying.
Michael Faraday the inventor of the light bulb was said to have failed over 10,000 times before finally getting it right. And when he was asked how he felt about failing over 10,000 times, he replied by saying that he didn’t fail, he only learnt 10,000 ways of not doing it.
Not many of us will be willing to try that much number of times before giving up and who says you are going to fail that many number of times.
There is usually a lot of what Ifs associated with venturing into new territories.
You begin to have thoughts like…… what if it doesn’t work, what if I fail. So let me ask you, what If it works out, and what if you succeed Huh??? I guess you’ll never know until you try.

Martin Luther king jnr II said something that I totally agree with, here it goes “Just take the first step, you don’t have to see the whole stair case just take the first step”
Take a step of faith and start that dream business and just believe that as soon as you start, the universal forces will co-operate with you.

You don’t have to wait until you have those millions before you start, trust me if you do, you’ll probably never start anything.
It’s not a crime to start small, even the Bible tells us not to despise our days of little beginning. It only becomes a crime when you choose to remain small and refuse to grow.
Well with this few points of mine, I hope I’ve been able to open your eyes to the necessity of doing something with your hands and not expecting the government to do everything for you. Thanks.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Vs Tecno Pad N9

By Yemi | 12:09 AM | | 1 Comment so far

For some time now, Tecno Android smartphones have been posing a great threat to Samsung’s dominance in the Nigerian smartphone market. And the newly released Tecno Phantom Pad N9 tablet (the first tablet by Tecno) seems to be doing just the same to Samsung tablets, as many consumers are now getting stuck between both products.

Since the release of the Tecno Phantom Pad N9 few weeks back, we’ve been getting questions from consumers as to which is better between Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) and the newly released tablet by Tecno. And if the large number of customers who asked this same question is anything to go by, then Tecno’s tablet will soon become a hotcake in the tablet market, just like the Android smartphones Tecno released before now (N3, P3, N7, F7, etc.)

In response to the demand by many of our customers, we hereby compare and contrast between Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 2 and Tecno’s new tablet, the Phantom Pad N9.

Both devices are superb and are packed with features anyone would expect to find in a high quality Android tablet — although, the Galaxy Tab 2 has been around and well known among tech-savvy Nigerians for some time now.

Now, let’s see how both products fare against each other:

General

Both devices run on Google’s Android operating system. While the Galaxy tab runs on Android 4.0.3 (ICS – upgradeable to 4.1.1), the Phantom Pad N9 runs on the latest version of Android, 4.2.2.

Also, both devices have a SIM card slot and both support 2G and 3G networks. So, both will give users a great web surfing experience. Plus, you can use both devices to make phone calls.

Body and design

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 measures 193.7 x 122.4 x 10.5mm, while the Tecno Phantom Pad N9 is slightly larger, measuring 204 x 154 x 9.9mm. Though larger, the Phantom pad is slimmer than the Galaxy Tab 2.

Both products are available in black and white colors.

Display

The Phantom Pad has a HD 8-inch (768 x 1024 pixels) display, which is slightly larger than the Galaxy Tab’s 7-inch (600 x 1024 pixels) display. Each device has an LCD capacitive touch screen.

Connectivity

Both devices have GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth, A-GPS, and micro USB connectivity options. In addition, both devices have WiFi, WiFi hotspot, WiFi direct, and dual band features.

Processor and memory

The Galaxy Tab is packed with a 1GHz dual core processor and a PowerVR SGX540 GPU. But the Phantom Pad N9 boasts of a stronger 1GHz quad core processor.

While the Galaxy comes in variants with internal storage capacity of 8GB, 16GB, or 32GB, the Phantom Pad comes is available in only one variant, which is packed with 16GB or internal memory. You can expand the memory capacity of both devices using using a micro SD.

Both devices have 1GB of RAM.

Camera

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 has a 3.15MP rear camera plus a VGA front-facing camera, while the Tecno Phantom pad has a 5.0MP rear camera and a 2.0MP front-facing camera. Both devices are great for shooting pictures and videos.

Battery

The Tecno Phantom seems to be the winner here also, as it is packed with a 4500 mAh battery, which slightly trumps the 4000 mAh that comes with the Galaxy Tab.

Price

The Galaxy tab presently costs N53,000 while the new Tecno Phantom pad costs N36,000 (Parktel Online Store Price).

Who wins?

After comparing the important features of both phones, we think Tecno’s Phantom Pad wins in most aspects. However, because the product is still very new, we cannot vouch for its durability. But if we look at how their Android smartphones are faring in that regard, one can predict that the Tecno tablet will stand the test of prolonged use.

However, if you’re still finding it hard to subscribe to Tecno products because of their first generation mobile phones, you can satisfy yourself by going for the Galaxy Tab.
